Pabna is bounded by Natore and Sirajganj districts on the north, Padma river, Rajbari and Kushtia districts on the south, Manikganj and Sirajganj districts and Jamuna river on the east, Padma River, Natore and Kushtia districts on the west.
Economy:
Agriculture 53.75%, non-agricultural labourer 4.57%, industry 4.58%, commerce 14.97%, transport and communication 4.14%, service 7.41%, construction 1.64%, religious service 0.16%, rent and remittance 0.49% and others 8.29%.
Culture:
- Shahi Mosque which was built by Masum Khan Kabuli at 15th century.
- A Mughal-era mosque 'Varara Moshjid' is some 10 km southeast of the town.There is a rumour that the mosque built in one night.
- The remains of Hindu temple Jor Bangla (recently renovated) is in Jor Baangla Paara of the town.
- Jagannath Temple at Chatmohar Upazila is considered one of the most beautiful Hindu temples in northern Bangladesh.
- Rassundari Devi, a Bengali writer who is identified as the author of first full-fledged autobiography in modern Bengali literature, was born in Pabna in 1809.
