Geography: 

Khulna is located in the Khulna Division, bordered on the north by Jessore District and Narail District, on the south by the Bay of Bengal, on the east by the Bagerhat District, and on the west by the Satkhira District. Khulna district is comprised mostly of flat plains. The district is divided by numerous rivers and canals. Major rivers of Khulna District are the Rupsa, Arpangachhia, Shibsa, Pasur, and the Koyra.

Main sources of income Agriculture 34.90%, non-agricultural labourer 6.22%, industry 3.51%, commerce 19.60%, transport and communication 5.17%, service 18.27%, construction 1.99%, religious service 0.21%, rent and remittance 0.78% and others 9.35%.
